NAV22 - Advanced Report Designer (1 Day)

Course Aims

To ensure that delegates are able to amend existing reports and write new ones with the use of the Microsoft Dynamics™ NAV Financials programming language C/AL. The course will extend the scope of the report writer to allow data not directly linked to be output or updated.

Who should attend?

Delegates should be IT personnel who will be expected to extract information from, and report on data held within Microsoft Dynamics™ NAV. The delegate must have previously attended the Intermediate Report Designer course and have used the Report Writer to extract information.

Pre-Requisites

Course NAV21 - Intermediate Report Designer or similar knowledge level

Course Content

Advanced Report Designer

• Higher level maintenance of reports using the Microsoft Dynamics™ NAV Report Designer


• Develop further understanding of how best to choose correct data tables


• Use advanced C/AL code and incorporate filtered detail onto the report


• Attach C/AL code to the report sections


• Understand how to create reporting arrays


• Use C/AL code to amend outputted fields


• Develop the selection of report output


• Understand how to update records using reports


• Review basic MS Office integration


• Use some advanced reporting options to develop higher level reporting structures
